LUZ an immigrant teen, lives in an apartment in Queens, with her parents MARTA and ALEJANDRO

A hard working student, who believes that without effort, talent is nothing, but unmet potential. 

Her days are planned: wake-up, school, home, homework, flute practice, dinner, and sleep, repeat. 

Today was different, today she finds out what her parents are purposely hiding from her. 

LUZ, una adolescente inmigrante, vive en un departamento en Queens, con sus padres MARTA y ALEJANDRO.

Un estudiante trabajador, que cree que sin esfuerzo, el talento no es más que un potencial insatisfecho.

Sus días están planeados: despertarse, ir a la escuela, a casa, hacer la tarea, practicar flauta, cenar y dormir, repetir.

Hoy fue diferente, hoy descubre lo que sus padres le ocultan a propósito.


A Peruvian-American, who immigrated at the age of six, 

alongside his mother and two year old sister

He was raised in Queens, New York. 

With today's intolerable immigration injustice 

he is opening up to share his stories, inspired by 

his 40 years of life as an immigrant.

Born and raised in Matamoros Tamaulipas, México

he moved to New York City in 2012 looking for a bigger 

and diverse creative community.

With a focus in storytelling, Adrián's work 

shares his admiration for the human condition through cinematography, photography and music.

Lina Sanchez (LUZ)


Lina Sanchez, who was part of the main cast in Alfred the Dragon by New Media Theater for six years, is extremely proud to be joining All Shadows directed by Julio Valenzuela as Luz. She is a sophomore in high school and lives in Manhattan with her family. Lina is a talented classical piano player and in addition to English, she can speak French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. She began her acting training at the age of five. The schools where she received her training include Lucy Moses School, American Conservatory Theater, New York Film Academy, Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute, and Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Additionally, Lina enjoys playing soccer, horseback riding, sailing and traveling. She has visited numerous countries in Europe, South America, and Asia with her family.

Juanita Castro-Ochoa (MARTA)


Juanita Castro-Ochoa is a New York-based actress and teaching artist. Born in Colombia, she moved to the United States at an early age and lived in Florida until recently. She received a MFA from The Actor Studio at Pace University and a BFA in performance from Florida International University. While in Miami, she was very active in the local scene where she produced a one-woman show, and participated in the micro-theater project of the Spanish Cultural Center. Juanita acted in Spanish and English for Miami’s diverse audience for six years before moving to New York where she is still an active part of the LatinX scene. She was previously seen in Edda an original play at 3LD and Installation on America with The Labyrinth theater company. 

Hadrian Castro (ALEJANDRO)


Hadrian is an actor and musician who attended the William Esper Studios. Recent credits include: King in Money Talk The Anthology by Kwaz Fraser, Orion in The Happening at the Hudson Guild Theater in the Summer Fest and Samael in Uilbheist. He has multiple projects in the works, with characters ranging from priest to pimp. He would love to continue expanding his roles through the many facets of acting. In his own wild way, Hadrian has been involved with music as a drummer, and in projects such as The Kings of Leon “Pyro” and Cee-Lo Green videos. You can keep up with him on www.hadriancastro.com

Glory Monell (ROSITA)


Glory Monell is a New York City based actress who can transition easily between comedy and drama. She has played many diverse and opposite characters showing her wide range of skills. Glory studied acting since the age of 10, trained in Stella Adler, Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre & studied with Anthony Abeson. She has worked on several TV/Film projects, Live Sketch Shows, hosted, and has created, written, and directed her own content. Her mission is to share her gifts with the world and inspire others to do the same. Glory Monell’s amazing commitment to strive for more, intense passion, and perseverance all reflect in her hard work.

Madison Elizondo (EMILIA)


Madison Elizondo is so honored to be in All Shadows! Previously, she has been in four other short films, including Saltines (Lead). Her stage credits include the pilots of Oliver! Jr. and Matilda Jr., and the play Our Town (Rebecca Gibbs). She can be seen in many commercials, and was also a 2018 model for Justice! Madi is a proud Latina and Tica. She’s thankful for how hard her Papi has worked, and how much he gave up and risked coming to America to make a better life for his family. By being in this film, she hopes to inspire kids with different roots to be proud of who they are, and not scared, despite what horrible things are going on right now with immigration. She is thankful for growing up connected to the Latino community through food, love, and tradition. She’s thankful for all her teachers, mentors, and coaches who have always believed in her and pushed her to be the best she could be. Special thanks to her family and friends for all their love and support for everything she does! 

Zoe Gandolfo (SAMANTHA)


Zoe Gandolfo has appeared in several short films, television, and theater productions. You may have seen her in “Mysteries at the Museum”, “The Nearness of You”, “When I Grow Up” and “Newsies” to name just a few. She is currently taking improv classes with Louie Pearlman from The Magnet Theater. She recently participated in her first film, “Jack Jonah”, which will be released in November this year! Zoe is a third-grader fluent in Spanish and a trained dancer. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading and traveling.
